Hawai'i Farmers Union Food Safety Webinar Series:
Ep 2 Homemade Food Operations & Cottage Law
Hawaiʻi Farmers Union (HFU), in partnership with the Hawaiʻi Department of Health (DOH) Food Safety Branch, recently hosted a free statewide Lunch & Learn on Hawaiʻi's Homemade Food Operations (HFO) rules and recent Cottage Law updates.
The webinar provided farmers, food entrepreneurs, and small-scale producers with practical guidance on HFO requirements, recent regulatory changes, food safety considerations for home-based businesses, and answers to common questions during a live Q&A.
Featured speaker Peter Oshiro of the Hawaiʻi Department of Health Food Safety Branch shared insights from more than 38 years of experience helping Hawaiʻi food producers navigate state food safety regulations.
Mahalo to National Farmers Union for supporting us to host this educational series, to everyone who joined us, and to the Hawaiʻi Department of Health for helping support Hawaiʻi's growing community of local food producers.
